Westfall College and Career Counselor Emily Smith hosted another successful "Westfall Way Forward," an annual event that presents students with different career options after high school.
Based on the results of a career survey, Sophomores and Juniors took part in four informational sessions led by a variety of industry leaders that suited their interests. From the Medical Professions to Military, Construction to Cosmetology, the speakers talked about their positions, responsibilities, and the path they took that led them to their current roles.
In addition, our seniors participated in a series of informational sessions on how to budget, buy/rent a home of their own, and land the perfect position. They attended an informal roundtable with Westfall alums and discussed the enlightening truths of life after high school. The seniors also participated in several mock interviews, where they had the opportunity to meet with community leaders, brush up on their interview skills, build confidence, and help enhance their resumes.
Westfall Way Forward is an excellent opportunity where students can gain knowledge and helpful insight on transitioning into the workplace.
We appreciate our guests, organizers, helpers, and students for making this event successful and are proud to welcome many alums back to share their experiences with us!
