Westfall Local Schools

Award-winning author, photographer, and poet Charles R. Smith Jr. visited Westfall this week!  He has over 30 books to his credit. He has received numerous awards, including the Coretta Scott King Award for Illustration in 2010 for his photographs accompanying the Langston Hughes poem, My People, and a Coretta Scott King Honor Author Award in 2008 for his biography on Muhammed Ali, Twelve Rounds to Glory. He spoke at Westfall Elementary on March 10th and at the Middle and High Schools on March 11th.  Special thanks to the Westfall Education Foundation for sponsoring his visit to the Middle and High Schools!
